Mini-Kinfests have developed over the past year; stemming from our Kinfest holidays. Small and large groups, even just a couple of carers have started to meet up with their children all across the country; forming new friendships and strengthening existing ones. If you are interested in attending any of our events, or meeting up with any of our members, please email us for further details of up and coming events.
"The Christmas Works Do"
This is a wonderful way to finish off the year and get away from all the left-over turkey! The kids have a wonderful time as do the adults!
2012's was held on 29th December 2012 at the Red Hot World Buffet in Northampton and also at The Red Hot World Buffet in Manchester; the two locations enabled more members to become involved and meet up. Santa visited the children and gave them each a small gift each. The Northampton meet-up was followed by a number of families staying at a local Premier Inn.
2011's was held on 28th December 2011 and this saw over 50 of us all meet up for a Chinese buffet lunch at Mandarin Buffet in Northampton followed by an afternoon at a family pub with a play area for the Kids. Many of us stayed over night at a local Premier Inn to make the most of the couple of days we had with people as many had traveled from Nottingham, Kent and Yorkshire; to name but a few areas.
As always, everyone had a fantastic time at each event and the staff at all locations commented on how happy and well behaved the children were and were genuinely interested about Kinship Care; they took time to chat with the kids and us adults to make us feel that bit special and we are looking forward to return visits!
Hampton Court Palace
October 2011 and a group of us met up at Hampton Court Palace and had a lovely day. It was a fantastic location and the kids (aged from 2 years to 16 years) were all suitably entertained. It was an easy location to get to - there is a train station right next to the Palace and it's also easy to access from the motorways.
Tower of London
26th February 2012 saw a group of us travel to London where we travelled from Greenwich to the Tower of London on a River Thames Clipper. We had a lovely day and the kids enjoying eating chips and ice cream at the Tower, as you can see. There were lots of throbbing feet that day - kids and adults included!
There are also a lot of smaller groups meeting for play-dates, coffee mornings, etc. Where possible, we do try to book in groups to get some sort of discount off the ticket price.
